What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We collect subscriber or customer information in connection with opting in to a specified product, service or event or subscribing to continued contact.  In no way is the customer under obligation.  Subsequent contact can be refused by any customer or subscriber by simply clicking “Unsubscribe” in the footer of email.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. While this WordPress site does not collect any analytics data, 1 & 1 IONOS hosting service provider may collect anonymous  analytics data.

Google Analytics measures my advertising ROI as well as tracks my Flash, video, and social networking sites and applications.  These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interactions.

Who we share your data with

Mailchimp, OptinMonster, and SendInBlue powers data collection using opt-in webforms, landing pages and other notification methods.  This information is retained on their respective servers.  It is not provided to a third party marketing entity or data collection company.  More information can be obtained from their respective websites.

Akismet, the anti-spam service this site uses, collects information about visitors who comment on Sites that use the Akismet anti-spam service. The information collected depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

Paypal, Amazon, Selz, Vervante, Ingram and other free or paid third party resources are used for selling our products and services and urls linked to those third parties are provided to our customers.  This website does not see or retain any of your financial or secured information.  These other entities, however, have their own privacy policies.   We only share related optin information.  For example, if you order a product, we share your shipping and contact information.  Also, if the order is taken over the telephone or in person, with your request or permission, we enter your information on your behalf.  At no time do we do this without your permission.

Lastly, social media plugins are used by this site.  Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram give us access to your accounts in accordance with their own privacy policies.  These social media entities have their own data collection and requesting methods, privacy and security practices in place, and retention policies independent of Suzette Solutions.  At no time are we provided or given access to your personal financial or account information.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register or optin on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile or webform. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Additional information

How we protect your data

None of your private information is retained by us.  If information is taken via phone or in person, as soon as requested action is done, the information is shredded.

Your optin information is retained in password protected CRM software and other password protected entities.  Computers require IDs and passwords in order to use.  Employees who have access to these accounts have undergone FCRA compliant background checks.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Double opt-ins are used to discourage computer robots.  Periodic password changes are made to discourage spammers and hackers.

What third parties we receive data from

We currently do not receive data from advertisers or third party entities.  While social media provides access to customer or subscriber information, the customers themselves determine what security measures they wish to implement.  We do not buy customer lists or contact information.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not provide a service which includes automated decision making – for example, allowing customers to apply for credit or aggregating their data into an advertising profile.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

We are not a member of a regulated industry, neither are we subject to additional privacy laws as a result.

Instagram Feed WD

“Instagram Feed WD plugin uses Instagram API on website front end. All the data received from Instagram via API is cached in WordPress database for some short period to provide front end optimization. You may request us to delete your Instagram data if it is accidentally cached in our website database with hashtag feed data. Instagram saves some cookies in browsers of website visitors via API data. These cookies are mostly used for security purposes. They are regulated under terms of Instagram’s Privacy Policy.”
